2006-2011 studies of environmental sciences at the university Koblenz-Landau focussing on biodiversity and nature conservation, ecotoxicology, socio-economy, and environmental management.

German university degree “Diplom”; thesis on the motivation of operators, the obstacles, and the usage conflict at the establishment of short rotation coppice, embedded in the project Short Rotation Coppice enabling Environmentally Sound Production of Wood for Energy Purposes.

Entry at ITAS and fields of work

Since 10/2011 member of scientific staff at ITAS, focussing on the following topics:

  • Bio-economy
  • Strategies for cutting down on food waste
  • Sustainable land use and land use competition
  • Energy crops, especially short rotation coppice
  • Agriculture and food security
