Looking back on "30 years of ITAS"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On 30 June 2025, Maja Göpel addressed the question of how our society can look ahead positively despite crises and technological upheavals. On the occasion of the ITAS anniversary and part of KIT's 200th anniversary celebration, the political economist and sustainability expert spoke in the KIT Audimax on the topic "Transformation als Gemeinschaftswerk - Warum die Multikrise das Wir erfordert".

"
From craftsman to scientist – it sounds like a contradiction, but for me it was a logical development: Both worlds work to actively shape the future. Today, I combine them in my research on assistive technologies such as social and care robots or exoskeletons. I am particularly fascinated by the interaction between people and products – especially what motivates us to accept or reject a technical product and how we can design it in a way that we enjoy using it.”
