Project description
During the transfer phase of KuNaH-T, the follow-up project to KuNaH, the project aims to further disseminate the concept of the culture(s) of sustainability (CoS) – which was developed during the first funding phase and tested in real-world experiments – in a scientifically sound, sustainability-oriented, and transfer-focused manner. CoS consists not only of visible, specific measures but is – also in universities – deeply rooted in routines and shared assumptions. Building on this, five transfer modules are being developed within KuNaH-T to support other universities in implementing CoS, thereby reaching the German-speaking higher education landscape.
Transfer Module 1, led by KAT, aims to develop, implement, and institutionalize a training program for multipliers to qualify individuals at ten additional universities and three inter-university organizations as experts and ambassadors for cultures of sustainability, so-called CoS Attachés. The trained CoS Attachés from the partner universities will then use their acquired knowledge and skills to serve as change agents and multipliers for cultures of sustainability at their institutions. In addition to raising awareness of the cultural aspects of sustainability, training participants will also learn how to conduct real-world experiments at universities.
In addition to the training for CoS Attachés, the project will develop and disseminate a CoS toolbox, communication guidelines for informal transformation processes, and a self-assessment tool for universities to track CoS.
Furthermore, it includes cross-project activities to promote local sustainability and nation-wide knowledge sharing for CoS. The goal is the long-term integration of CoS into university structures and to ensure its effectiveness through participatory networks and communication.
The “TransferN” workshop series – developed and piloted in the predecessor project as part of a real-world experiment conducted by KAT and IRM for KIT to provide sustainability training for a wide range of knowledge transfer actors – will be adapted during the course of this project and made available to other universities.
