The "Future Room for Sustainability and Science" gives the team of "District Future" and "Urban Transition Lab 131" the opportunity to be on the spot in Karlsruhe’s Oststadt – an important step for the ITAS project, which is appreciated by politics, science, and the urban society: Therefore Baden-Württemberg’s Minister of Science Theresia Bauer, Karlsruhe’s mayor Frank Mentrup, and KIT Head of Division Karl-Friedrich Ziegahn will also attend the opening ceremony on Saturday, 13 June 2015 in Rintheimer Straße 46.

The organizers cordially invite all who are interested to come and join the festive and casual inauguration of the Future Room. The central event of the all-day program is the join-in discussion "Sustainable Urban Development: From Knowledge to Action" with Theresia Bauer and Armin Grunwald, Head of ITAS. There will also be a ceremonial lecture, a workshop where you can build your own furniture, and a photo exhibition which documents the development of District Future.

The complete program can be found here.

Henceforth the Future Room can be used as a venue for exchange and dialog and a shared place of work for scientists and stakeholders in the Oststadt. Interested citizens do not only get information on questions related to mobility and energy, but also room for their own ideas and the realization of a sustainable development in the Oststadt – and beyond.
