Project description

The project comprises initially observing and analyzing the activities of the main European and non-European institutes, programs and other initiatives in the field of TA. The results of this activity are used to select topical areas for closer analysis by identified experts. Examples of such topics are important individual technologies or groups of technologies, social issues involving the use of technology, and methodological aspects of particular interest to decision-makers in the field of research and technology policy, and the ethics or cooperation of those affected.

The goals of the project include:

  • the strengthening of the TA network in Europe and creation of the conditions for thematic networks,
  • the identification of gaps in existing knowledge and generation of ideas for projects, particularly with respect to pan-European issues,
  • the identification of matching conclusions of both convergent and divergent reports and studies,
  • the analysis of possible reasons for differences in conclusions; these could, for example, relate to cultural factors, approaches used and perspectives or specific points of view in individual countries.
