Entry at ITAS, fields of work

Since April 2007 I am member of the scientific staff of ITAS. My research interests lie in the field of philosophy of science, epistemology and decision theory. My main question is how one can scientifically justify statements about the future under (epistemic) uncertainty and how those statements can then be used as a fundament of democratic decision-making. Currently my focus lies on energy scenarios which are generated with the aid of computer models and are an important basis for the energy-political debate.
