New TATuP Issue: “Technology assessment future warfare”
In light of a dramatically changing global situation, technology assessment (TA) must grapple with its role in evaluating the impacts of weapons technologies on individuals, societies, and the environment. Based on this consideration, the current TATuP Special topic brings together a diverse range of contributions on the theme “Technology Assessment and future warfare.” The editors are Karsten Weber and Markus Bresinsky, experts in technology assessment and, respectively, international relations, from OTH Regensburg.
The TATuP interview with Harald Schaub also addresses the blurring boundaries between civilian and military spheres. The psychologist argues that TA must evolve into an instrument for building trust that connects science, politics, and defense psychology.
Further research articles address concepts for the “impact” of TA and the question of to what extent personality traits can explain acceptance or rejection of technology. (05.04.2026)
