Issue 1 / 2013 of the ITAS-journal "Technikfolgenabschätzung - Theorie und Praxis" (TATuP) has been published [22.05.2013]

Technologies for comprehensive technological enhancement of human performance are currently discussed in the form of hypothetical future technologies. Such visions, expectations of the future and scenarios are the specific subject of this issue.
The editors of the thematic focus, Arianna Ferrari and Petra Schaper-Rinkel, have invited authors to reflect on the discourse about the comprehensive technological enhancement of human performance. The common aim of the contributions is to deal with the challenges technological visions pose for technology assessment taking the example of human enhancement technologies.
In the "discussion forum" contributions by Bettina-Johanna Krings and Armin Grunwald, Thomas Saretzki as well as by Stefan Böschen are presented. The authors follow the trails of Fritz Gloede, who was a staff member of ITAS for many years. One reason is to honor Fritz Gloede, who recently retired. Another reason is to recall Gloede’s theoretical contributions to TA in order to carry on his ideas and to inspire the current TA debate.
In the section on "TA Projects" one project on "robotics in care and health care," and another one on "human-robot interaction in industrial working environments" are presented.
In this issue you will also find a summary of the European Commission’s so-called "ONLIFE initiative". As usual, TATuP also includes reviews of TA literature and conference reports as well as news from ITAS, TAB, STOA and the TA network.
