TATuP is the main publication medium for the interdisciplinary field of technology assessment. As such, TATuP goes beyond disciplinary borders to cover related and overlapping fields of research. This includes systems analysis, risk assessment, practical ethics, sustainable development research, innovation and technology analysis, foresight as well as related scientific disciplines ranging from the natural, technological, economic or social sciences to the humanities.
In addition to addressing scientists, TATuP aims to reach a broad range of readers from the political, economic and public sectors. Each issue of the journal focuses on a specific topic and includes sections dedicated to scientific contributions, recent news, conference reports, and reviews. TATuP has been published continuously since 1992. Starting in 2017, oekom verlag in Munich will be publishing the journal under its new name, TATuP – Journal on Technology Assessment in Theory and Practice, as an open access peer-reviewed journal. TATuP is published three times a year in print and electronic format.
Although a predominantly German-language journal, TATuP welcomes contributions in English. All scientific articles include English abstracts.
