New deputy director appointed at ITAS

Prof. Dr. Armin Grunwald, director of ITAS, appointed Constanze Scherz deputy director of the institute.

Constanze Scherz is member of the scientific staff of ITAS since 2005. Previously, she worked for several years at the Office of Technology Assessment at the German Bundestag (TAB) in Berlin, which is operated by ITAS. Scherz studied social sciences at the Humboldt University of Berlin. The past few years at ITAS she has been head of the editorial team of the journal "Technology Assessment - Theory and Practice" (TATuP). The foci of her scientific work are in the areas of parliamentary policy advice, knowledge for decision-making processes and the regular conduct of an international summer school for students from the social sciences interested in Technology Assessment.

A reshuffle of the institute’s direction had become necessary, because the former second director, Prof. Dr. Michael Decker, left ITAS, when he was appointed Head of Division II "Computer science, Economy and Society" of KIT in October 1, 2015. (14.01.2016)
