Future Room for Karlsruhe Oststadt

The projects "District Future" and "Urban Transition Lab 131" are setting up a research, conference and meeting place. The "Future Room" will be opened on 13 June 2015 on the occasion of the Baden-Württemberg Sustainability Days.

The opening of the Future Room in Rintheimer Str. 46 is an important step for "District Future – Urban Lab" and "Reallabor 131 – KIT findet Stadt" (Urban Transition Lab 131). The meeting point in the project area Karlsruhe Oststadt will allow the scientific team to work even more closely with local stakeholders in research and sustainable development of the district. Another important reason for setting up the "Future Room for Sustainability and Science" was the request from many citizens to provide suitable premises in the Oststadt. From summer 2015, the Future Room will be open for use to all interested citizens and stakeholders in the context of District Future and Urban Transition Lab 131. The idea is to establish a location for research, meetings, events and discussions, serving as a think tank on sustainable development of the district.

On Saturday, 13 June 2015, the Future Room will be officially opened with a varied program in the course of the Baden-Württemberg Sustainability Days and with the participation of Baden-Württemberg’s Minister of Science Theresia Bauer. Until then, the project team and actors from the district will jointly prepare and equip the rooms. All those who wish to take part in shaping the Future Room are cordially invited to attend.
